“After my son Brandon was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy upon turning one, I didn’t know what it would mean for me and my family. Life continued as normal until the complications of his diagnosis left us contending with the unknown.
I continued to work full-time, which required a lot of travel with little time at home. Doing that and managing a child with special needs left me exhausted, resentful, and depressed. I couldn’t leave him with just any daycare, and our family was unavailable. Caregiving is the ultimate sacrifice we make for our loved ones. Yet it DOESN’T have to mean sacrificing your own needs. My passion is all about balancing the needs of others without sacrificing your own needs so that you can live a life full of joy and happiness.
After two years on my journey, my smile is finally authentic. I can be my real self. I have discovered boundaries, and I can say “no” without feeling guilty‌. I even appreciate the trials in life without taking responsibility for all of it.”
